For a long time our windows has been the only way we could relate to the "outside" world. Due to the intermittent restrictive measures imposed by the 2020 health emergency, observing the world through our windows and opening them to let fresh air in have been fundamental actions for the psychophysical well-being of all of us.
Similarly, opening new dialogue windows can help improve our lives by bringing in, just like a breath of fresh air, new ideas, new suggestions to improve ourselves, new incitements to increase our involvement in the space in we live in.
The dialogue windows filled with notifications on the four walls of the electrical cabinet represent the desire for dialogue of the inhabitants of the most multicultural district of Bologna, Bolognina: from the neighbour to the teacher, from the "Sports ground buds" to the librarian, from the "Pasta Fresca Club" to the Mayor, from the handyman to "Bombe Amano", the writer who sign the orange wall during our painting works, therefore opening (without his knowledge) a dialogue window with us.
The multicolored background is inspired by the rainbow, a joyful symbol that has accompanied us through 2020 and, just as the windows, it goes over the corners of the building, in order to create continuity between the four walls and lead the observer in walking around the the construction to observe the whole work.
The project was selected by Associazione Serendippo through the call "Drawing Dialogues", that picked 10 artists in order to paint on 10 electrical substations installed in the area of the former fruit and vegetable market in Bolognina.
Fresh Air is here.
By framing the main wall with the application Artivive or with the application Bepart (both available for free in the App Store and in the Play Store), the work comes to life through augmented reality, giving the visitor the opportunity to read the explanation of the concept, as well as an immersive experience.
You can watch the animation of the wall by framing this image with the app Artivive or Bepart →
