Valmarecchia is a territory that attracts tourists for different qualities: the food and wine offer, the cultural offer, the nature and the enchanting landscape, the hospitality of its inhabitants. The coexistence of all these characteristics makes Valmarecchia a unique land.
Taking inspiration from the portraits of Sigismondo Malatesta and Federico da Montefeltro painted by Piero della Francesca, we imagined the two facing each other, and developed a proposal for the visual identity that could represent the variety of what the valley can offer.
In the proposal, different icons are positioned within an imaginary mirror, creating comparisons in pairs and proposing always new readings of the dynamic territory.
On the left
Piero della Francesca, Portrait of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, 1451
On the right
Piero della Francesca, Double Portrait of Urbino Duke and Duchess (Portrait of Federico da Montefeltro), 1465-1472
Tablecloth with rust prints.
The style with which the elements of the visual identity have been elaborated, draws direct inspiration from rust print, an ancient technique whose birth and tradition is strongly linked to the territory of Valmarecchia.
In this technique the subjects are often separated from each other by a white line, that we kept in the design of the icons. The two colors used in the logo, a "rust" and a dark blue, were also inspired by rust prints.
For each outcome the couple most suitable for the subject of communication will be composed; e.g. for the mushroom festival in Verucchio, the icon of the mushroom can be places in front of the Malatesta Fortress representative of the village.
The most evocative subjects can be used on all promotional material.
